Helical Pier Systems Ltd. (HPS) offers engineering, manufacturing, installation, equipment design and creation and distribution for helical piling products. HPS has been North America’s leader of these products and services since 1977. Our team is committed to providing custom engineered helical pile foundation systems that meet performance requirements as specified by our customers. Our extensive experience spans the residential, commercial, oil & gas, utility and industrial markets. HPS driven steel piles and cast-in-place concrete caissons are also part of our engineering and installation capabilities. HPS provides optimized foundation designs for all load ranges and superstructure types using a combination of foundation technologies.

Helical piles are constructed of one or more helical plates welded to either a steel cylindrical pipe or square steel shaft and advanced in to the ground using a hydraulic torque motor. Helical Piles can be installed quickly with minimal impact to the environment: with low installation noise; no vibrations; no cuttings to excavate or remove; and they can be removed as easily as installed under any climate. Helical piles are proving to be the most cost effective and versatile foundation system available.

At HPS we manufacture and install a full complement of round and square shaft helical foundation products. Our standard round shaft diameters range from 2-7/8” to 16” diameter with helix diameter sizes up to 40” diameter, on either single or multiple helix piles of varying length. We can also custom build helical piles to any specified dimensions within the safe and practical limits of the material and installation equipment.

HPS operates the largest fleet of installation equipment in North America and distributes to a network of certified HPS installers throughout Canada, United States, and Europe. We equip, train and certify all of our contractor’s installers to meet our high exacting standards before allowing them install our products.

Our equipment sales, maintenance and tooling division is unique to our industry, as no other helical piling company offers these services. With our Inteli-Pier, digital data logging, and patented installation torque monitoring device, HPS is the world leader when it comes to its equipment technology for helical pile installation. In addition, we supply and rent Hydraulic motors and associated accessories between standard torque capacity ranges of 8000 ft-lbs to 250,000 ft-lbs for our drive heads.

What really sets HPS apart is our in house engineering department, staffed with award-winning post graduate geotechnical and structural engineers with many years of experience and knowledge specific to helical piles in the field of foundation engineering. At HPS we make available to all of our clients full technical support, detailed engineering design, development of specifications and drawings, and all other engineering related support with respect to foundation engineering.

Our engineering team is continuously finding new and successful applications for our product. Our most recent advancement was to utilize bi-directional load testing along with third party validation as part of our helical pile load testing program. Once again, an industry first!
