Requirements:

  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to work within a welding/manufacturing setting, CAD experience is an asset

HR Generalist

Location: Sherwood Park, AB

HPS is looking for an individual who will be responsible for professional level generalist Human Resource Advisory initiatives. As the primary support to leaders for resourcing/recruitment, coaches and assists leaders in managing the recruitment process. Consults with leaders to determine the recruitment process needed to ensure a selection of qualified applicants are identified and provides training to leaders to be able to independently manage the recruitment process. Completes projects with a significant focus in the areas of in the areas of recruitment, job evaluation and compensation within the client team area. Acts as a resource for leaders on all disciplines within Human Resources, including implementing strategies and follow-up to ensure desired results. Participates in the communication and administration of Helical Pier Systems Human Resources policies and practices.

Responsibilities:

Provides frontline coaching, advice, recommendations and communications to client groups on Resourcing/recruitment, Job Evaluation, Compensation, Pensions & Benefits, Relocation, HRIS data, and other related topics.

Provides support to departments in the selection of employees through direct participation in, or supervision of, recruitment and selection activities. Develops and implements recruitment strategies for hard to recruit to occupations. Acts as resource to hiring authorities to determine appropriate advertising venues and interview techniques. Assists in interview process as requested.

Works with leader to develop terms of offer and structure the offer. Compiles data and provides input to ensure salary recommendations are appropriate and equitable.  Provides support and training to leaders to independently carry out the interview, reference checking, and offer processes. Carries out 3 month reviews with new hires, and shares pertinent information with leaders as appropriate.

Consults with leaders to understand current job information and special occupational requirements, and evaluates positions in accordance with the HPS guidelines.  

Participates in the formulation and continuous review of a broad range of human resource management policies, procedures, programs and practices for the corporate office. Ensure the consistent interpretation and application of such policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications:
 
  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Management
  • 5-8 years experience working in a Human Resources environment, preferably as a generalist with experience in recruitment and job evaluation
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience

Project Manager

Location: Sherwood Park, AB

HPS is currently seeking a project manager for our Sherwood Park office. The individual is responsible for the performance of every phase of a major project or a group of smaller projects. The responsibilities include planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of contractual activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned projects from inception to completion
  • Negotiate project scope and key performance indicators with clients.
  • Building long term business relationships with the client and client’s management.
  • Work with HPS team through the idea generating and project forecast stage.
  • Plan, organize and manage the day to day activities of the project by planning the project, delegation of responsibilities and establish the quality management program.
  • Project planning and scheduling.
  • Manage the project in accordance with the project budget and schedule, including workforce planning and allocations.
  • Reporting the progress of the project to the client.
  • Demonstrate solid leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding and experienced in planning/scheduling techniques and cost and risk management

Field Safety Officer

Location: Sherwood Park, AB

Helical Pier Systems is seeking a Field Safety Officer to support and drive a culture that embraces safety, recognizes hazards, and takes action to minimize risk. You’ll ensure employees conduct hazard assessments on every job and that all staff understands they are not to take risks. Additionally, you will: provide resources to ensure we use quality and appropriate safety equipment; carry out safety training where required; conduct safety audits on a regular basis; and provide direction and support in the investigation of all safety incidents. Your Experience

TRAVEL:

While the position is based in Sherwood Park, AB, the successful candidate must be available to travel to various project sites as required to ensure safe, smooth, uninterrupted operations.

Field CWB Certified Welding Supervisors

Location: Throughout Alberta & Some US Locations

This position will entail working on field projects in all weather conditions throughout Alberta and some US locations. Must have been previously certified by CWB as a Welding Supervisor and have experience completing visual inspection on welds, be able to review welding procedures and be familiar with different welding processes and electrodes. Must be able to document daily progress and weld mapping.

Wages to be in the 25/hr – 28/hr depending on experience.
