Kidd’s Creek Culvert
Project:
Kidd’s Creek Culvert
Helical Piers were installed through naturally occurring peat and sand layers, which were unfit for bearing, along the length of a culvert for a creek relocation. This was an alternative option to grouted piles. This approach produced savings in labour and construction time as grouting was not required. Six hundred and forty helical piers were installed to a predetermined depth, due to the natural occurring sands and peat layers. A concrete slab was then constructed to support the culvert/pipe at pile locations.
